We were woken up by the gentle tingle of the rain, restarted the fire and made some grilled cheese and ham sandwiches. We immediately noticed some structural differences between Germany & Czech Republic e.g. random stalls/ mini shops along the road, selling things like garden gnomes, animal skulls, drinks in all colors & shapes,... We were eager to see our km counter go from 999 to 1000 but had to take our eyes off the counter pretty soon. While we were mentally prepared for another day of climbing until Chomitov, we were surprised by a seemingly endless downhill. The next time we had a chance to look at the counter, we noticed we raced down 18 km. At this point we had to leave the road because it turned into a highway. The slope was no longer 6%, but the downhill didn't end either. With some help of the wind of an oncoming storm we pushed forward towards Louny. There we sat out the rain after it finally caught up with us. While buying our food we noticed an increase in the language barrier, which was no doubt compensated by the amazing scenery. After 65 km we set up camp and enjoyed the view over the territory we had conquered. While hearing the drums of Prague in the distance we looked back over the natural border that is formed by a mountain range.
